Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the European Green Deal and ESG policies, the Observatory offers a clear roadmap for each company to move towards a more efficient, responsible and resilient model.

Data that decides: artificial intelligence at the service of sustainability.

Through data science, artificial intelligence and green algorithms, the Observatory converts information into useful tools for decision-making.

Strength in unity

In 1975, a group of Spanish citrus cooperatives joined forces to expand their offering, reach new markets and improve their negotiating power with large retailers.
This led to the creation of Anecoop, a second-degree cooperative, a “cooperative of cooperatives”.

Beyond production, leading the way in agricultural sustainability

At Anecoop, we want to be more than just a producer and marketer of fruit and vegetables; we want to be pioneers in the implementation of tools to identify, quantify and measure sustainability criteria, as well as establishing a culture of corporate sustainability at all levels.

For Anecoop, it is important to work with social and economic indicators to investigate ways of strengthening the socio-economic fabric of rural areas, improving their competitiveness and boosting economic growth, while having a positive impact on the environment.

Constantly evolving

At the heart of Anecoop’s Sustainability Observatory lies the promise of constant innovation. This dynamic space not only focuses on the fundamental aspects of sustainability and adaptation to climate change in the agricultural sector, but also embarks on the exciting mission of mitigating these challenges. How? Through the active promotion of agriculture that is not only sustainable, but also smart and competitive.

This approach does not stop there; the Anecoop Sustainability Observatory explores the various dimensions of sustainability. From its commitment to reducing food waste to its crucial participation in the decarbonisation of the economy and consumption.

Furthermore, we do not forget the importance of applying the principles of the circular economy, thus forging a path towards a more equitable and environmentally friendly agricultural future.

At this observatory, innovation is the compass that guides us towards a sustainable horizon full of possibilities.

Innovative approach

The Anecoop Sustainability Observatory is committed to maintaining an innovative perspective. This not only involves the agricultural sector’s adaptability to climate change, but also the ability to mitigate its impacts through sustainable, intelligent and competitive agricultural practices.

Scope of research:

The sustainability approach is not limited to climate change alone. Other aspects will also be explored, such as the contribution to reducing food waste, the role in decarbonising the economy and consumption, and the implementation of economic principles.

Sustainable and competitive agriculture:

The importance of seeking solutions that are not only environmentally sustainable, but also smart and competitive in the agricultural sector is highlighted.

Commitment to mitigation:

There is a clear commitment not only to adapt to climate change, but also to actively work to mitigate it through agricultural practices that are beneficial to both the environment and the economy.

“From the roots of innovation, our project grows: a platform that not only collects data, but also weaves stories of sustainability.

Like a campus that educates, accredits, and publishes actions that guide the path of traceability, each step is a promise towards a brighter and more conscious agricultural future”
